Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our Roanoke or Blacksburg, VA office. You will collaborate with project managers and team members on preliminary engineering, design, and construction services for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.

Responsibilities include design calculations, technical writing, client coordination, and field support from planning through construction. A PE license in VA is preferred or the ability to obtain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Engineering in Training Certificate.
• 4+ years of project experience in water and wastewater facilities design, construction administration and inspection.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical writing.
• P.E. license in Virginia or ability to obtain is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for water and wastewater projects.
• Conduct evaluations to support planning and design of water and wastewater systems.
• Prepare and review technical memoranda, reports, drawings and contract documents.
• Direct and assist with project staff and coordination with subconsultants.
• Facilitate internal and client meetings and approvals of plans.
• Support field testing and investigations; manage construction projects and coordinate with inspection personnel.
