Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our Environmental team in our Virginia Beach, Newport News, or Richmond VA offices. You will work with project managers to perform preliminary engineering, design, and construction services for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

The role involves preparing designs and cost estimates, reviewing technical documents, and coordinating with clients and subconsultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Engineering in Training Certificate required.
• 4+ years of project experience in water and wastewater facilities.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specs, and cost estimates.
• Conduct technical evaluations for planning and design of water/wastewater systems.
• Prepare and review technical memoranda and reports.
• Direct and assist staff and subconsultants.
• Facilitate meetings and client presentations.
• Support field testing and investigations.
• Manage construction projects and submittal reviews.
• Provide construction inspection and administration for water/wastewater facilities.
• Coordinate with clients and design teams.
