Job summary

Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to assist on Potomac Interceptor projects, planning, permitting, design, and construction submittals while coordinating with stakeholders and managing schedules and budgets.

Candidates should have a Civil Engineering degree, 5–10 years of design experience, and a PE license (MD/VA) or ability to obtain within six months. The role offers a hybrid work schedule in the DC area.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant engineering design experience.
  • Candidate must possess a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland or Virginia is required or ability to obtain within six months
  • Familiarity with project management software as well as Microsoft office programs are required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are preferred
  • Resume must reflect relevant work experience in the USA. Local or regional experience is preferred.

Job description

DHA is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to work on Potomac Interceptor projects. Responsibilities for this position include assisting project managers on large diameter sewer rehabilitation projects. Responsibilities for this position include assisting project managers on large diameter sewer rehabilitation projects with project planning, permitting planning and support, designs, construction submittal reviews, coordination with various stakeholders, and management of project schedules and budgets.

This position is planned for near-term development to Project Manager (Water/Wastewater) position.

Qualifications
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant engineering design experience

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 90% of the time Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Field work is required 10% where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required as needed.

Work Schedule

Hybrid schedule (three days per week at client's office in Washington, DC and two days remote)
