Job summary

The City of Temple is seeking a Team Leader – Water/Wastewater to manage backflow and FOG programs, protect potable water and wastewater systems, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws. The role supervises staff, prepares reports, and communicates with leadership and regulators.

Responsibilities include coordinating program goals, budgets, and policy implementation; reviewing plans for backflow devices and grease systems; developing educational materials for utility customers;

Qualifications

• Associates degree in environmental science or a closely related field is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience using computers and site location devices.
• Ability to read maps, blueprints and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee requirements for each program, issue compliance schedules and assist with enforcement as needed.
• Lead a team that inspects backflow, FOG, and stormwater facilities and maintain program databases.
• Respond to inquiries and complaints related to all programs.
• Develop and implement program goals, objectives and policies; participate in policy decisions.
• Participate in the annual budget process for the programs.
