Job summary

Christopher B. Burke Engineering, LLC seeks an experienced Water/Wastewater Practice Lead to expand our municipal and water resource services across Illinois and Indiana.

You will guide project delivery, drive business development, and mentor staff while maintaining client relationships. You will lead design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure, provide technical leadership, and manage scopes, budgets, and schedules to meet objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Indiana and Illinois or ability to obtain licensure.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting and regulatory processes.
• Experience with hydraulic and/or wastewater system modeling, calibration, and evaluation.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, MS Office, and hydraulic modeling platforms (InfoWater Pro, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks, SWMM, Bio-Win, GPS-X or similar).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites and client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead growth and strategic development of the Water/Wastewater practice across Illinois and Indiana.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify new service offerings and growth opportunities; develop annual business development plans.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and mentoring technical staff.
• Lead planning, design, and delivery of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical leadership, project oversight, and quality assurance.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and proposals; ensure schedule and financial objectives.
• Serve as trusted advisor and primary contact for clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Continuously update knowledge of regulations, technologies, and industry trends.
