Job summary

The City of Newberg seeks a working supervisor for the Wastewater Treatment Plant to assist the Operations Manager in directing the water and wastewater systems. You will supervise staff, manage maintenance, and ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations while coordinating with unions and city officials.

Responsibilities include budgeting, project planning, reports, and safety training. A valid driver’s license and state certification are required, with additional certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Post high school education in engineering, chemistry, water/wastewater technology, physical, biological, mathematics or operation management would be a plus.
• Five (5) years of experience, with a minimum of two (2) years in possession of a Level III or higher wastewater treatment system certification
• Two (2) years experience with team lead or supervisory and budgetary duties.

Responsibilities

• Assists the water and wastewater treatment teams with operations and maintenance; uses asset management and work order software.
• Maintains all water and wastewater facilities to comply with local, state, and federal requirements; keeps supervisor informed.
• Prepares regular reports of maintenance and upgrade projects for planning and budgeting.
