Job summary

The Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to perform major mechanical and minor electrical maintenance on water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, and related equipment.

You will operate a variety of heavy vehicles, assist in repairs, and ensure proper operation through inspections and preventive maintenance. The role requires on-call duties and coordination with the Maintenance Foreman.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 3 years of mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance experience preferred.
• Possession of a valid State of Georgia driver’s license and satisfactory MVR; CDL Class A preferred or obtainable within 6 months.
• Possession of Safety certificates (Confined Space Entry, Trench Excavation) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on blowers, pumps, motors, and related water/wastewater equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, piping, valves, and electrical controls.
• Operate heavy vehicles and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Keep records and provide technical support for repairs.
