Priority Dispatch Corp. in Macon, GA is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform technical maintenance on complex water and wastewater treatment equipment at two facilities.

You will inspect, service, repair, and install equipment including pumps, boilers, valves, and motors, while training a trainee in all aspects of the role. Safety is paramount; you will follow OSHA guidelines, conduct electrical checks, manage preventive maintenance, and coordinate with city works programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Two-year technical college or 3-5 years experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Follow OSHA safety guidelines including lock-out/tag-out, confined space, fall protection, hazardous conditions, and chemical exposure.
• Maintain equipment at two wastewater plants, one water plant, lift stations, and Bibb County sites.
• Comply with regulatory permits and guidelines; perform installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial equipment.
• Identify and repair faulty parts by testing, temporary repairs, or installing new parts; equipment includes boilers, pumps, conveyors, valves, compressors, generators, etc.
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify potential issues.
• Operate equipment (cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, portable compressors, generators) and obtain CDL within 24 months.

Salary Range: $28.69 - $30.75 Hourly

Job Summary: Performs skilled technical maintenance on a variety of complex equipment in the maintenance, repair, and installation of water and wastewater treatment systems equipment and machinery. This includes but is not limited to tanks, pumps, motors, boilers, compressors, generators, conveyors, presses, hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, actuators, exhaust fans, etc. Will oversee and train maintenance mechanic trainee in all aspects of the position.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines as outlined by OSHA. Included but not limited to:

• Responsible for maintaining equipment at two Wastewater treatment plants, one water treatment plant, all lift stations and water distribution sites throughout Bibb County
• Must comply with regulatory agency permits and guidelines.
• Completes installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial equipment
• Identify and repair problematic parts of machines/equipment by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts as needed
  • Equipment can include but not limited to:
    • Boilers
    • Conveyors
    • Pumps (centrifugal, vertical turbines, rotary lobe, progressive cavity, etc.)
    • Rotary Presses
    • Valves (Plug, butterfly, gate, ball, etc.)
    • Compressors (electric and gas)
    • Blowers (centrifugal, rotary lobe)
    • Generators
    • Mixers
    • all other equipment related to water and wastewater treatment
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify potential issues
• Able to use maintenance equipment such as, but not limited to:
  • Overhead crane
  • Boom truck (15 and 30 ton capacities)
  • Must have ability to obtain CDL within 24 months
  • Will be trained in the operation, signaling and rigging of this equipment

• Ability to use wide range of tools from basic hand tools to precise measuring tools to include, but not limit:

  • Access server for use of manuals, photos, job descriptions, forms
  • Monitors SCADA system daily for proper operation of water/wastewater systems

Physical Requirements

Environmental Working Conditions

Position requires some exposure to working outside, insect bites/stings, poisonous plants, and possibly reptiles.
