Job summary

Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority is seeking an Equipment Operator I to support systems maintenance. You will operate medium to heavy construction equipment, perform basic servicing, and assist with site preparation under supervision.

The role requires a GA driver's license, CDL class A with endorsements, and the ability to work on-call, in varying weather, and overtime as needed. Core hours are Monday through Friday with on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 2 years of experience operating automotive and construction equipment.
• Possession of a valid State of Georgia driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Possession of a valid State of Georgia Class “A” CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) required. Possession of Manual Transmission Endorsement preferred.
• Possession of a Confined Spaces certificate.
• Possession of a Department of Transportation Flagger certificate.
• Possession of a Trench Excavation certificate.

Responsibilities

• Operates stake body, panel, and dump trucks to move personnel, equipment, and materials.
• Operates winch truck to transport, load, and unload large and/or heavy objects.
• Operates fork lift, mini-excavator, skid steer, compact track loader, dump trucks, etc.
• Prepares simple records and performs equipment servicing and minor maintenance operations.
• Performs preventative maintenance and upkeep of trucks and other equipment.
• Performs manual labor when needed.
