Stanley Consultants is seeking a Water/Wastewater Pipeline and Pump Station Engineer / Project Manager for our Phoenix office. This position will lead, deliver, and manage projects through study, design and construction phases of water pump stations, wastewater lift stations, stormwater pump stations, large diameter pipelines and utility work.

The Water/Wastewater Pipeline and Pump Station Engineer / Project Manager is a professional that is well versed in all aspects of engineering services for pump stations and pipeline projects through:

  • Developing detailed designs, plans, specifications, and estimates for pipelines, pump stations, and other potable water and wastewater conveyance systems.
  • Leading the planning, evaluation, and design of potable water and wastewater conveyance projects.
  • Responsible for engineering and process design, project coordination, writing engineering specifications, and working directly with the owner.
  • Serving as a project manager on utility projects.
  • Coordinating and directing the work of multidisciplinary teams throughout the project’s lifecycle.
  • Managing multiple projects concurrently, ensuring coordination and timely production.
  • Engaging in client relations and participating in marketing and design meetings.
  • Conducting work sessions for deliverable development in collaboration with other staff and stakeholders.
  • Tracking the financial aspects of projects to ensure completion within budget and schedule.
  • Conducting quality control reviews of designs and implementing QA/QC procedures.
  • Overseeing projects from start to finish, ensuring quality is maintained throughout.
  • Asset management and risk consulting and design.
  • Smart water system planning, design, and implementation.
  • Performing other duties as required.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Serving as primary client contact, advising on project status and schedule.
  • Communicating with regulatory agencies, vendors, contractors, and community stakeholders.
  • Performing and directing complex studies and investigations.
  • Building and managing training programs, workload and staffing plans, and marketing proposals.
  • Coordinating phases of the work to ensure completion within established time and budgetary constraints.
  • Participating in local professional organizations and presenting market-specific papers.
  • Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with clients.
  • Managing and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Mentoring staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering; a Master of Science (MS) degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Must possess a network of water/wastewater professionals.
  • Regional and technical expertise in water pump stations, wastewater lift stations, and pipelines.
  • Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills and client relationship skills.
  • Design team leadership skills.
