Stanley Consultants is seeking a Water/Wastewater Pipeline and Pump Station Engineer / Project Manager for our Phoenix office. This position will lead, deliver, and manage projects through study, design and construction phases of water pump stations, wastewater lift stations, stormwater pump stations, large diameter pipelines and utility work.

The Water/Wastewater Pipeline and Pump Station Engineer / Project Manager is a professional well versed in all aspects of engineering services for pump stations and pipeline projects through:

  • Independently developing detailed designs, plans, specifications, and estimates for pipelines, pump stations, and other potable water and wastewater conveyance systems.
  • Leading the planning, evaluation, and design of potable water and wastewater conveyance projects.
  • Responsible for engineering and process design, project coordination, writing engineering specifications, and working directly with the owner.
  • Serving as a project manager on utility projects.
  • Coordinating and directing the work of multidisciplinary teams throughout the project’s lifecycle.
  • Managing multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely production.
  • Engaging in client relations and participating in marketing and design meetings.
  • Conducting work sessions for deliverable development in collaboration with other staff and stakeholders.
  • Tracking the financial aspects of projects and ensuring completion within the agreed budget and schedule.
  • Conducting quality control reviews of designs and implementing QA/QC procedures.
  • Overseeing projects from start to finish, ensuring quality is maintained throughout.
  • Planning work effectively and communicating with project resources and teams.
  • Asset management and risk consulting.
  • Smart water system planning, design, and implementation.
  • Performing other duties as required.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Serving as primary client contact, advising them regarding project status and schedule.
  • Communicating with regulatory agencies, vendors, contractors, and community stakeholders.
  • Performing and directing complex studies and investigations.
  • Building and managing training programs, workload and staffing plans, and marketing plans.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Coordinating phases of work to ensure completion within time and budget constraints.
  • Participation in professional organizations and preparing market-specific papers.
  • Collaborating with other disciplines in producing plans and specifications.
  • Developing and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Managing and delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Desire and ability to manage and mentor staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering; a Master of Science (MS) degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Must possess a network of water/wastewater professionals.
  • Regional and technical expertise in design of water pump stations, wastewater lift stations, and pipelines.
  • Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills and client relationship skills.
  • Excellent design team leadership skills.

We offer a hybrid schedule for eligible positions consisting of two days a week in the office, two days a week remotely, and a flexible day that can be worked either in the office or at home. Eligible roles can also offer a compressed workweek schedule.
