Job summary

Brownsville Public Utilities Board is seeking an entry level W/WW Operator Apprentice or W/WW Operator D to join the treatment plant team on an assigned shift. You will learn and assist in safe operation of groundwater, surface water, or wastewater equipment, including SCADA systems, filters, pumps, and RO trains, under supervision.

This role offers hands-on training and growth opportunities in a critical public utility setting. Starting pay is hourly with a range depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Learns, assists, and performs the safe and efficient operation of treatment process units, groundwater well field, filters, pumps, reverse osmosis membrane trains, other plant equipment, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition ( SCADA ) systems in accordance with established procedures and state agencies, rules, and regulations.
• Under supervision, regulates the proper operation of raw water facilities and sludge digesters, maintains proper water levels in tanks and reservoirs by operating pumps and valves.
