Job summary

Pueblo of Sandia is seeking a Lead Operator to oversee the safe operations and maintenance of the Water/Wastewater system, directing OIT and Utility Operator levels 1 and 2, and acting in the Supervisor’s absence.

Responsibilities include supervising daily tasks, maintaining treatment files, testing chlorine, pH, DO, and related parameters, enforcing SOPs, and coordinating with agencies. A strong team leader with safety focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years experience in water treatment.
• Four (4) years experience in wastewater treatment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance tasks for water/wastewater systems.
• Maintain treatment records, reports, and related documents.
• Test chlorine content, pH, DO, and other parameters; ensure disinfectant limits.
• Enforce SOPs and safety requirements; supervise OIT and Utility Operator levels 1 & 2.
• Assist Supervisor with scheduling, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and onboarding.
• Coordinate with agencies on potable and wastewater inquiries.
