Gainesville Regional Utilities' (GRU) Water/Wastewater Department is currently seeking to fill a Utility Engineer III position in the New Development Infrastructure group. This position will perform professional and technical engineering work reviewing and evaluating plans for the design of new Water/Wastewater infrastructure; reviewing, and updating the Water/Wastewater Material, Design, and Construction Standards; and construction oversight of new Water/Wastewater infrastructure. Work is performed in both an office and onsite with a unique opportunity to review both the design and installation of new water/wastewater infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Below are the required education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science in engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited educational institution or similarly accredited non-US institution, and four (4) years of experience in the area of assigned engineering responsibility,
OR
Master’s degree in engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited educational institution or similarly accredited non-US institution, and three (3) years of experience in the area of assigned engineering responsibility.
Licenses:
Valid Florida Class E Driver’s License required.
Certifications:
Valid State of Florida “Engineering Intern” license may be required for Water/Waste Water, Public Works or special project areas. Professional Engineer license preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Demonstrate proficiency with MicroSoft Office Suite or equivalent and possess a proficient knowledge of software utilized in the engineering discipline as required by the individual department.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess certain physical abilities and be able to withstand work related environmental conditions.
