Job Details: Gainesville Regional Utilities' (GRU) Water/Wastewater Department seeks to fill a Utility Engineer III position in the New Development Infrastructure group. Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating plans for new Water/Wastewater infrastructure design, updating standards, and overseeing construction. Work is performed both in-office and onsite, providing a unique opportunity to review design and installation of infrastructure.

Summary: Independent engineering work applying standard principles and procedures, reporting to a supervisor, with some guidance on complex issues. Emphasis on independent application of engineering principles to clear objectives.
Examples of Work: Includes preparing analyses, specifications, research, and reports; negotiating; planning; evaluating; inspecting; designing; testing; consulting; building relationships; budgeting; and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency in MS Office; specialized software knowledge; independent work capability; strong engineering principles; effective communication; ability to build relationships; supervision skills; data analysis; physical ability for outdoor work; environmental resilience.
