Job summary

SolveNow Inc. is seeking a Mechanic in Training for a water/wastewater treatment facility.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to perform heavy manual labor under adverse conditions, with a valid driver's license. Responsibilities include maintenance on facility equipment, motors, pumps, and valves; reading work orders; working in confined spaces; using hand and power tools; and collaborating with electricians.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Must perform heavy manual labor under adverse conditions.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting motors 10 HP or higher.
  • Knowledge of safety rules for confined spaces and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work orders, manuals and safety materials.
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment safely.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on wastewater and water plant equipment, piping, electrical components, and structures.
  • Assist in repair and/or replacement of water and wastewater plant motors, pumps, and related equipment.
  • Assist electrician in repair and/or replacement of electrical motors, panels, and components.
  • Diagnose equipment failure and initiate proper repair procedures.
  • Work within confined spaces such as sewage/water equipment tanks.
  • Operate and maintain equipment per manufacturer instructions.
