Job summary

The City of Bloomington is offering a pathways program toward a Utility Operator position in its Utilities Division. This entry path combines hands-on work with classroom instruction to prepare for CL-D Water and CL-SD Wastewater licensure, enabling progression to a Utilities Operator role.

Assigned staff will perform a variety of manual and skilled tasks across water distribution, treatment plants, and wastewater systems, with focus on safety, regulatory compliance and cross-division

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Minnesota driver’s license.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect and repair the water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Install, read and repair residential and commercial meters.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs to water treatment and wastewater facilities.
