Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience in construction, maintenance, or repair of water distribution and sewer collection systems.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and complete work orders.
• Ability to fill out daily reports and checklists for water and wastewater stations.
• Ability to read labels on equipment, chemicals, reports and memos.
• Ability to use math to calculate water usage and hourly readings.
• Ability to interact with crew members and the public.
• Ability to follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Repairs leaks in wastewater or water distribution systems, including deep trenches and related components.
• Check water and wastewater stations and assist with pumps, motors, and SCADA systems.
• Flush lines, replace damaged parts, and handle valves and taps.
• Repair manholes, clean-outs, and valves; assist heavy equipment operators.
• Maintain attendance, professional relationships, and support other departments in emergencies.
