Job summary

City of Rowlett is seeking a Maintenance position responsible for the upkeep of water, wastewater, streets and drainage systems. You will operate heavy equipment, troubleshoot leaks, and assist in coordinating crew activities to ensure reliable services for residents.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and 3 years in water/sewer maintenance; a valid driver's license is required, with a CDL A Tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED and three years of experience relating to construction, maintenance, or repair of water distribution and sewer collection systems.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain water, wastewater, streets and drainage systems; operate a range of equipment.
• May serve as lead worker over Maintenance Specialist I/II in Crew Leader's absence.
• Assist Crew Leader in planning, scheduling and implementing activities for quality service.
• Perform labor in construction and maintenance: pavement cutting, ditch digging, manhole, line cleaning, and pipe repair.
• Service water supply, sewer lift stations and pumps; ensure safety at sites and proper communications with residents.
• Train Maintenance Specialists I/II; help locate gas and utility lines before excavation.
