Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking a Utility Technician to support water distribution and wastewater systems and assist customers with service issues.

Under the Area Supervisor, you will perform maintenance, read meters, document work orders, and operate vehicles and equipment in a safety-conscious environment. CDL is required within 90 days of hire; valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• No previous experience is required although mechanical and/or electrical experience is preferred.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• A CDL (Commercial Drivers License) must be attained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs semi-skilled installation, maintenance and repair of valves, meters, gauges, pumps, and associated equipment.
• Operates and maintains vehicles and equipment as per procedures.
• Loads and unloads equipment, chemicals and supplies at worksites.
• Operates medium construction equipment under supervision.
• Adheres to safety and security policies for a safe work environment.
• Performs ground keeping and custodial tasks as assigned.
• Resolves routine problems and notifies management of issues outside scope.
• Reads meters as needed.
• Updates and maintains documentation, closes work orders in the system.
• Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned.
