Job summary

B in Cincinnati is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects, developing accurate estimates and partnering with operations from bid through handoff.

The role requires understanding of water/wastewater construction, self-performed work, and ability to evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water and wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong reading of plans, specs, and contract docs.
• Proficiency in quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and scope reviews.
• Familiarity with HCSS, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and OST tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and price self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure coverage.
• Evaluate phasing, staging, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, opportunities, VE ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and handoffs to the project team.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.
• Partner with operations to set projects up for successful execution.
