Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Estimator to pursue and plan water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will develop accurate estimates and collaborate with operations and project management from bid through project handoff.

You will evaluate scope, constructability, risk, and cost—not just perform takeoffs, with emphasis on self-performed work and related heavy civil construction. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Experience estimating water/wastewater construction projects.
• Experience with self-performed structural concrete and/or heavy civil construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and productivity.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, piping and related infrastructure.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for self-performed labor, materials, and equipment.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals and ensure scope coverage.
• Evaluate project phasing, scheduling, logistics, constructability, and sequencing.
• Develop preliminary schedules to support estimating efforts.
• Identify risks, opportunities, value-engineering ideas, and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in bid reviews with operations and project management.
• Prepare detailed project budgets and handoffs to the project team.
• Support subcontractor and supplier buyout after award.
• Partner with operations and project teams to set projects up for successful execution.
