Position Overview

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking an Engineer in Training to join our Salina office. The role focuses on water‑related projects including drainage/flood control, potable/supply water infrastructure, and sanitary/wastewater infrastructure engineering services.

Essential Job Functions

• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within team environments.
• Strong problem‑solving and application of fundamental engineering principles.
• Technical writing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Support field investigations or assessments.
• Perform design engineering calculations.
• Assist in the design of various types of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.
• Collect, analyze, and report data.
• Participate in the writing and production of project reports.
• Work under the guidance and mentorship of senior engineers.

Required Experience

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Water Resource Engineering from an EAC/ABET‑accredited college or university.
• EIT Certification (having passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam).
• 0–4 years of relevant experience, preferably in construction plan production, design calculations, and/or technical writing.
• Knowledge of Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil3D) or Bentley (MicroStation, InRoads) design platforms is a plus.
• Experience with commercial engineering modeling software such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, and USACE HEC programs is a plus.
• GIS working experience is a plus.

Salary

Annual salary range: $70,000 – $93,000.
