Job Description

ISG is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our team. Our Water/Wastewater team serves essential Municipal and Industrial clients across the US and is comprised of employee owners in Sioux Falls, Storm Lake, Des Moines, and St. Louis Park offices. We are a full-service, multi-disciplinary team performing award-winning work in planning, design, survey, and construction.

Our water/wastewater engineers are responsible for:

1. Working individually or leading project teams to assist clients with evaluation, planning, and implementation of water, wastewater, and reuse systems.
2. Conducting treatment technology assessments, including data analysis, mass balance calculations, modeling, bench testing, and pilot testing.
3. Existing system operation, troubleshooting, and process improvement assessments.
4. Long-range planning, including current system assessment and future capital and operating expense forecasting.
5. Supporting studies and alternative analyses to determine optimal treatment options to meet compliance and client goals.
6. Developing conceptual and detailed engineering designs, including plans and specifications for construction.
7. Assisting with construction, start-up, troubleshooting, and operation of new systems.
8. Conducting field observations, inspections, and data collection.
9. Preparing permit submittals for water/wastewater projects.
10. Collaborating with team members, communities, and stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and develop applications.
11. Performing other duties as assigned.

Recent projects include:

• City of Sioux Rapids, IA: Upgraded water treatment plant with additional source well, ion exchange for nitrate removal, new building, high service pumps, valves, and controls.
• Forsman Farms, Howard Lake, MN: Wastewater pretreatment system to meet compliance for a heavily automated egg-processing facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or similar.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
• 10 years of experience in design and drafting of water treatment facilities, groundwater wells, storage, distribution, pumping stations, wastewater treatment, collection systems, and lift stations.
• Strong technical skills in water and wastewater engineering.
• Experience in team building and leadership.
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
