Job summary

HDR Engineering is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our NTX/OK/AR team. The primary duties include planning, directing and monitoring technical design projects for water and wastewater systems.

You will perform complex assignments, exercise judgment on engineering procedures, and coordinate with clients and staff to ensure on-schedule delivery; may supervise staff and serve as project manager. A PE license is required or recognized, and a minimum of five years of relevant experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field is required.
  • PE license or eligibility is required or recognized for the position locale.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing water and wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and monitor design projects for water and wastewater systems.
  • Perform complex assignments and evaluate engineering techniques.
  • Coordinate with clients and staff to ensure documents are completed on schedule.
  • Function as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects.
  • May supervise staff and coordinate workload through project development.

HDR Engineering is looking for a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our growing NTX/OK/AR team.

The primary duties of the Water/Wastewater Engineer include but are not limited to planning, directing and monitoring technical aspects of pump station, pipeline, drinking water, and wastewater design projects which contain a high degree of technical complexity.

In the role of Water/Wastewater Engineer, we'll count on you to:

Take responsibility for performing complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures

Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed

Involved with client relationships

Function as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects as needed

May be involved with coordinating staffing and workload of staff through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule

May supervise small staff of professionals and technicians as needed

Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures and for the execution of training for personnel as established

Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance

Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects

Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
