Job summary

HDR is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our NTX/OK/AR team. You will plan, direct and monitor design projects for water and wastewater systems, working on technically complex assignments and coordinating with clients and staff.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, a PE license, and the ability to work independently within an employee-owned culture. Prior experience in water/wastewater projects is preferred, with opportunities to lead mid-size initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects.
  • Requires professional engineering license (PE) recognized in the position location.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team.
  • Active participant in our employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and monitor technical aspects of pump stations, pipelines, drinking water and wastewater design projects.
  • Lead/participate in complex design activities and QA/QC procedures.
  • Manage client relationships and coordinate staffing across projects.
  • Serve as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

HDR Engineering is looking for a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our growing NTX/OK/AR team.

The primary duties of the Water/Wastewater Engineer include but are not limited to planning, directing and monitoring technical aspects of pump station, pipeline, drinking water, and wastewater design projects which contain a high degree of technical complexity.

In the role of Water/Wastewater Engineer, we'll count on you to:
  • Take responsibility for performing complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
  • Involved with client relationships
  • Function as technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects as needed
  • May be involved with coordinating staffing and workload of staff through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule
  • May supervise small staff of professionals and technicians as needed
  • Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures and for the execution of training for personnel as established
  • Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for water and wastewater projects
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
