Sherwood Design Engineers is seeking a Design Engineer II focused on water and wastewater design to support ongoing projects and client needs. The engineer will handle maintenance and repair design work across diverse sites.

The role requires a Civil or Environmental Engineering background and hands-on experience with plan sets, AutoCAD, and related tools. Join a team delivering sustainable infrastructure and resilient water systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Ability to apply standard methods with sound judgment.
• Experience producing plan sets and redlines for drafters.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and office software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze wastewater treatment methods and recommend the best option.
• Analyze sludge disposal methods and develop treatment options.
• Design layouts for pumping and lifting systems.
• Review and critique water/wastewater treatment proposals.
• Perform cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Conduct environmental studies on collection, treatment, or distribution.
