Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer I to design drinking water and wastewater infrastructure across Bannockburn, Chicago, Crystal Lake, Naperville, or Mokena, IL. The role offers growth through technical design, project management, and business development opportunities.

You will work with the Design Build department, coordinating with contractors and clients to deliver sustainable water systems while developing your leadership and technical skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with an Environmental emphasis is required.
• Ability to lead oneself through project design and communicate clearly.
• Strong technical writing, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team with engineers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Detail design of new and rehabilitation improvements for water and wastewater facilities.
• Prepare conceptual and preliminary designs using Bluebeam; coordinate with AutoCAD/Revit.
• Review infrastructure plans with focus on sustainability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with design-build teams and subcontractors to develop proposals and pricing.
• Coordinate with contractors on design-build projects.
• Make independent engineering decisions and own solutions.
• Communicate with peers, management, and stakeholders.
• Attend client and agency meetings to exchange knowledge and build relationships.
