Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Designer to create drawings and perform engineering calculations under a professional engineer. You will work closely with a cross-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment, contributing to multiple water/wastewater projects.

The role requires proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD or Revit, and strong communication and technical writing skills. A valid driver's license is required, with EIT preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited program.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good communication and technical writing skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop design drawings for water/wastewater projects.
• Perform engineering calculations and interpret drawings.
• Assist with proposal preparation including scope, schedule and fee.
• Coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines and perform drafting/CADD work.
• Conduct site visits to gather data, including measurements and notes.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Review and approve shop drawings to meet project requirements.
• Read and interpret technical documents necessary for job performance.
• Coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants to ensure project success.
• Attend bi-weekly meetings with the project team to discuss progress.
• Ensure ISO compliance and operate within budget parameters.
• Complete tasks on time and within budget while meeting project scope.
• Achieve or exceed budgeted utilization targets.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Complete other duties as required.
