Job summary

GarNat Engineering is seeking a Construction Observer to join our team in Arkansas. The observer will monitor water and wastewater infrastructure construction to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and standards.

The role requires preparing daily reports, coordinating with project managers and contractors, and verifying quantities on site while traveling to project sites and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in construction observation, water and wastewater utilities, civil engineering, or public works.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and engineering plans for water and wastewater utilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to project sites.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Observe construction activities on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Monitor contractor work for compliance with project plans, specifications, permits, and quality standards.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Document construction progress with photographs and written reports.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients.
• Identify and communicate construction issues, discrepancies, and safety concerns.
• Attend project meetings and provide construction updates.
• Verify quantities and assist with project record keeping as needed.
