Job summary

City of Brenham is seeking a Water/Wastewater Supervisor to lead crews in laying and repairing water and sewer lines, plan projects, and handle field paperwork. The role requires knowledge of TCEQ rules, blueprints, and safety procedures, with on-call duties to address after-hours issues.

The starting pay rate is $20.18 per hour, with higher rates possible for experienced candidates. Residency within reasonable emergency response range is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent plus two years of experience.
• Knowledge of water and sewer line management, safety codes, budgeting.
• Ability to read blueprints and ArcGIS mapping.
• Valid Texas CDL Class B and Class II Wastewater licenses or ability to obtain within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and assists crew in laying water and sewer lines.
• Supervises maintenance workers and equipment operators, including assigning and reviewing work, training, and performance reviews.
• Ensures safety procedures and PPE are followed.
• Plans line construction projects and reads blueprints.
• Operates equipment such as jet machines, power saws, locators, water pumps, backhoes, cranes, and loaders.
• Completes work orders, equipment/labor logs, and required paperwork.
• Serves on call duty to respond to after-hours water/sewer problems.
