Job summary

CPL is seeking a Civil Engineer I specialized in Water & Wastewater in New York. The role focuses on designing water distribution, storage facilities, pump stations, treatment plants, sewer systems and related infrastructure.

You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across municipal, industrial, and commercial projects, perform analyses, ensure environmental compliance, and support project execution from design through construction support.

Qualifications

• BS in civil engineering or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
• Professional licensure (PE) required
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit and MS Office; Hydro CAD, SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS or equivalent
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

Responsibilities

• Develop designs for water and wastewater projects including pump stations, lines, sewers and treatment facilities
• Collaborate with environmental scientists, surveyors and other engineers to deliver comprehensive water/wastewater solutions
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting requirements
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, construction schedules and feasibility studies
• Provide technical support during construction, review plans and conduct site inspections
• Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications and high-quality deliverables
• Maintain client relationships and provide regular updates with cost-effective solutions
• Delegate and oversee work for engineering designers or interns
