Job summary

Gonzalez Companies, LLC is looking for a Construction Inspector to support water and wastewater projects in the Indianapolis area. You will serve as the on-site representative, coordinating with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to drive regulatory compliance and successful project completion.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years’ inspection experience, with travel to multiple job sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent).
• 2+ years of experience inspecting water/wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (AWWA, EPA, OSHA).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and report writing capability.
• Familiarity with testing procedures and field measurements.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections of water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.
• Verify work complies with design plans, specs, codes, and regulations.
• Document observations with detailed reports, photos, and logs.
• Monitor contractor activities for quality and safety compliance.
• Identify deficiencies and communicate findings to project team.
• Review and approve submittals and as-built docs when appropriate.
• Attend project meetings to provide updates and support issues resolution.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and start-up inspections of equipment.
• Ensure environmental and regulatory compliance during construction and operation.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and progress reports.
