Job summary

City of Kirkland is seeking a Utility Capital Project Engineering Supervisor to manage long-range planning for water and wastewater capital projects. You will supervise professional staff, coordinate cross-departmental efforts, and ensure projects meet timelines and budgets.

The role requires extensive civil engineering knowledge, strong leadership, and experience with capital improvement programs in a municipal setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• 7 years of experience in utility engineering and/or planning, including 4 years of direct project management.
• Ability to supervise and lead engineering staff and manage complex capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Attracts, retains, leads and motivates a competent engineering and project coordination staff.
• Plans, distributes, and coordinates project assignments and workloads among staff.
• Supervises engineering staff and provides guidance on scope of work, cost estimates and schedules for projects.
• Leads development of complex water and wastewater planning studies including Water System Plan and General Sewer Plan.
• Coordinates with City departments and external agencies to align capital improvement programs.
