Responsibilities

• Performs various tasks involving water utilities maintenance projects; locates service connections and breaks; installs, repairs, or replaces valves; disassembles, maintains and paints pumps, motors, pipes, and hydrants; performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Responds to after-hours emergency calls when scheduled for on-call duty; repairs main/service breaks; evaluates service calls and determines needed manpower, equipment, parts, and materials.
• Operates a variety of machinery and tools associated with department projects and transports crew workers to work sites.
• Monitors inventory levels of supplies and materials; initiates requests for new or replacement materials.
