Job summary

Veolia North America in New Jersey is seeking a utility construction worker to operate excavation equipment, install and maintain water mains, and support emergency responses. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of backhoe experience, and a valid New Jersey driver’s license with CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, recording daily activities, and performing foreperson duties when required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in backhoe excavation operations.
• NJ driver’s license required and CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavation equipment (backhoe, excavator) and forklift.
• Install and service water mains, meters, and hydrants with associated appurtenances.
• Keep accurate daily records of work performed and materials used.
• Respond to emergencies after hours and participate in on-call rotation.
• Perform Competent Person in Charge duties as needed.
