Job summary

The City of Port St. Lucie is seeking a Technical and manual labor position responsible for operating, inspecting, maintaining and repairing water treatment facility equipment and appurtenances.

This role supports public trust in the City’s Utility and serves as an essential position during emergencies. The incumbent must comply with DOT and safety standards, pass a drug screen, and be available for overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with mechanical training.
• 1 year experience with welding, fabrication, and aerial lift operation.
• 2 years experience in utility preventative maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, and related equipment.
• Inspect and repair piping systems (galvanized, PVC, stainless, copper).
• Lubricate and adjust shop, field, and plant equipment.
• Maintain records and data entry.
• Operate lifting equipment safely and follow PPE procedures.
• Assist with emergency response as needed.
