Job summary

City of Winter Haven is seeking a Business Analyst to link daily operations with data-driven insights across the Water Department. You will analyze departmental data, prepare reports, and support budgeting and performance tracking to drive fiscal responsibility and efficiency.

The role requires collaboration with senior staff, development of dashboards, data extraction across sources, and documentation of procedures for staff and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 2–3 years of progressively responsible professional experience in data analysis, financial analysis, utility accounting, or business process improvement.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Bridge between departmental data, financial planning, and water utility operations by gathering, analyzing, and reporting business intelligence.
• Assist leadership with budget preparation, revenue and expenditure tracking, operational performance tracking, and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with leadership to maintain financial records and analytical data, build queries, and support cross‑department reporting.
