Job summary

Lake County Department of Utilities seeks a Water Utility QA Distribution Operator – Backflow Prevention to uphold backflow prevention compliance across the distribution system. This role focuses on inspections, notifications, and maintaining logs using Cityworks software.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, a valid Ohio driver's license, and drug screening; applicants with backflow device knowledge, Microsoft Office, GPS data collection, blueprints, and strong communication

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with safe driving record.
• Drug screening required.
• Backflow device familiarity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Become a main resource for Backflow Prevention, including inspection requirements and regulations.
• Conduct visual inspections of backflow devices and maintain a log with Cityworks.
• Prepare notifications to consumers to maintain backflow compliance.
• Maintain a clean work environment at tanks, booster stations, and offices.
• Operate and check equipment, instruments, pumps and valves under supervision; diagnose problems.
• Assist with flushing hydrants to maintain chlorine residual and keep a flushing log.
