Job summary

City of Sarasota is seeking a skilled technician to inspect, repair and overhaul pumps, motors and related water and wastewater equipment across City facilities and systems. This probationary, full-time role involves operating heavy maintenance machinery and following safety standards.

You will read blueprints, document logs, manage inventory and assist with emergency responses. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of related experience, and a Florida Level III Water

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year experience in public works operation and maintenance or related fields.
• Level III Water Distribution License within 18 months of employment.
• Valid State of Florida Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair and overhaul pumps, electrical equipment and related machinery in water and wastewater facilities.
• Operate heavy maintenance machinery and perform routine service on equipment.
