Job summary

The Construction Association of Michigan is seeking a Water Meter Technician to install, maintain and repair water lines, meters and appurtenances across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.

The role requires reading blueprints, operating meter testing equipment, handling shut-offs, and assisting customers with meter-related inquiries. A valid Michigan CDL with endorsements and an S-4 license within 36 months are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Michigan CDL with endorsements is required.
• Two years of experience servicing and maintaining public utilities and equipment is required.
• Must secure and maintain an active Michigan S-4 Operator's License within 36 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair water lines, service connections and appurtenances.
• Install and repair sewer mains, storm and sanitary sewers and connections.
• Read meters and perform meter testing and repairs.
• Operate meter testing equipment and related tools.
• Read blueprints and follow project plans.
• Perform shut-offs and turn-ons and locate stop boxes.
