Job summary

The City of Warren is seeking a Water Utility Technician to install, maintain, and repair water and sewer lines and meters. You will operate a range of equipment while ensuring safe, reliable service to customers. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a Michigan CDL with endorsements, and S-4 licensing within 36 months.

Prior utility experience is preferred. Salary ranges from $28.46 to $36.75 per hour after three years, with benefits including health, dental, life insurance, and paid

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years' experience servicing and maintaining public utilities.
• Valid Michigan CDL with proper endorsements; driving record must be insurable.
• S-4 Operator’s License required within 36 months.
• Current S-4 holders must have license.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of water and sewer lines and appurtenances.
• Install, test, and repair water meters, pressure reducing valves, and appurtenances.
• Handle customer complaints related to water usage and read meters when needed.
• Operate a variety of automotive, power-driven, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
