Job summary

The City of Lakeland is offering an internship position in the Water Utilities Administrative Department, located at 501 E. Lemon St, Lakeland, FL. Interns will gain exposure to marketing, outreach, data entry, and conservation efforts while working up to 30 hours per week under supervision.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a relevant college program and can commit to some evenings and weekends with a flexible schedule. October start date is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an accredited college or university in a major relating to Environmental Science, Natural Science, Marketing, or Communications.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required; Canva experience preferred.
• Knowledge of social media platforms and their use in marketing and outreach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with marketing and outreach for the Water Utilities Department
• Assist in developing marketing materials including social media content
• Attend outreach events
• Assist with Water Conservation Efforts
• Assist with data entry and management tasks
• Perform related work as required
