Job summary

City of Miramar is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, telemetry, and control systems across water and wastewater facilities. You will support SCADA, Hansen, and PI systems and help ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration scheduling, and coordination with contractors. You will prepare records, obtain quotations, and communicate with the Chief Operator.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and 2 years of electronics/electrical maintenance experience.
• Fundamental knowledge of computer OS, MS Office, and networking.
• Fundamental knowledge of PLC systems, I/O, instrumentation, and DC control signals.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, telemetry, and control systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on 110 AC power and communications systems.
• Calibrate instruments and systems on schedule.
• Coordinate with instrumentation contractor during service.
• Maintain records for calibration and maintenance.
• Provide monthly reports on status.
