Qualifications

• Education: Completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college-level coursework in water utility sciences; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Experience: Two years of field experience in water utility operations with familiarity with domestic, commercial, and landscape water use efficiency techniques.
• Certifications: Water Use Efficiency Practitioner certification issued by AWWA within one year of hire; CLIA certification desirable or required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements cost-effective water use efficiency programs; tracks customer contact and program progress; reports on progress.
• Coordinates landscape water use efficiency programs; develops materials; conducts workshops and coordinates with public agencies.
• Plans and presents landscape workshops; promotes water use efficiency; monitors demonstration gardens.
• Schedules and conducts audits/inspections for rebate programs; verifies devices and conducts turf inspections and related tasks.
• Administers the Water Conservation Ordinance; addresses compliance questions; engages customers not in compliance.
• Develops and updates Water Use Efficiency Plan; contributes to Urban Water Management Plan.
• Gathers and analyzes data; creates reports and forms; uses data to evaluate program effectiveness and propose changes.
• Identifies and evaluates efficiency measures for commercial/industrial/residential customers; recommends incentives; performs cost/benefit analyses.
