Job summary

Knife River Corporation in the Dallas area seeks a CDL water truck operator to safely maintain and operate a water truck, applying water to road surfaces and assisting crews on site. The role requires a Class B CDL with Tanker endorsement and the ability to operate a manual transmission, with readiness for pre-employment DOT screening and strict safety standards.

The position includes daily inspections, accurate documentation, and coordination with construction teams while working flexible

Qualifications

• Must have a Class B CDL license with Tanker Endorsement and ability to operate standard transmission vehicle.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen, DOT physical, physical performance evaluation.
• Must provide and maintain proper license and endorsements, must have acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
• Accurately record pre & post-trip inspections on daily vehicle inspection form.
• Safely operate water truck and water pumps.
• Properly apply water volumes according to road surface.
• Accurately record gallons of water taken from each source staying in compliance with daily limits.
• Monitor vehicle performance, fluid levels, and mechanical fitness.
• Assist construction crews while waiting to apply water.
• Communicate effectively and work with difficult people under high stress situations.
• Troubleshoot and problem solve situations (material quality, equipment operation/repair).
• Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
• Ensure OSHA, EPA,DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
• Regular and timely attendance is essential to this position.
