Job summary

Pate Construction Co. Inc. is seeking a Water Truck Driver for underground utility construction in the Pueblo West area.

The role requires a valid CDL-Class A with Tanker endorsement and a strong safety record. You will operate water trucks to control dust, support road maintenance, and assist with routine truck maintenance. Responsibilities include delivering water, performing pre/post-trip inspections, logging deliveries, and coordinating with site crews.

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL (Class A) with Tanker endorsement and a clean driving record.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably water trucks in construction sites.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations related to vehicle operation.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a water truck in compliance with all regulations.
  • Deliver and distribute water to designated locations as instructed by supervisors.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections using the designated mobile app.
  • Monitor equipment and report maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate logs of deliveries and other required documentation.
  • Assist in minor maintenance and cleaning of truck.
  • Collaborate with site personnel, supervisors, and crew members.
  • Follow all safety protocols and communicate hazards promptly.

Experience in Underground Utility, Water & Sewer Mainline functions.

Position Overview

The Water Truck Driver operates water trucks for underground utility construction in conjunction with municipality projects to control dust, compact soil, support road maintenance, and perform other tasks as needed. This role requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)-Class A with a Tanker endorsement and a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a water truck in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Deliver and distribute water to designated locations as instructed by supervisors
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and related equipment using designated mobile app
  • Monitor equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs
  • Maintain accurate logs of deliveries and other required documentation for proper assignment of job expenses
  • Assist in minor maintenance and cleaning of truck when necessary
  • Work collaboratively with site personnel, supervisors, and crew members
  • Follow all safety protocols and communicate potential hazards promptly
Required Qualifications
  • Valid CDL (Class A) with Tanker endorsement and with a clean driving record
  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably water trucks in and around construction sites
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines related to vehicle operation
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including climbing, bending, and lifting as needed
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in construction, utilities, or municipal settings
  • Familiarity with water truck operations and dust control techniques
  • Hazmat endorsement or additional certifications

Work may be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates should be comfortable working in construction zones and occasionally in remote locations. Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime.
