Job summary

The City of Odessa is seeking a Water Plant Operator D to assist in the operation and basic maintenance of the Wastewater Reclamation Plant, learning to monitor equipment and follow safety standards.

You will collect samples, read meters, observe pumps and valves, and support shift operations with training provided. A Texas Driver's License and Class D Wastewater license must be obtained within the required timeframe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read gauges and interpret readings.
• Ability to follow safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operating water treatment and distribution facilities; duties vary by assignment.
• Collect WW samples and take meter readings.
• Monitor and learn operation of pumps, valves, and related equipment.
• Record readings and report anomalies to supervisor.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas and perform minor maintenance.
