Job summary

City of Odessa is seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator D to support the Utilities/WTP. Under close supervision, you will assist in operating and maintaining water treatment facilities and learn to monitor equipment according to standards.

The role requires High School diploma or GED, on-call rotation, and ability to lift up to 20 pounds; Texas driver’s license and Class D Water license within required timeframe. Good teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of WT facilities and safety standards.
• Ability to monitor WT equipment and read gauges.
• Willingness to rotate shifts and be on 24-hour call.
• Texas Driver's License and Class D Water license within required timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Assist operation of water treatment and distribution facilities.
• Collect WT samples and take meter readings.
• Monitor pumps, valves, and equipment; adjust WT flow and treatment processes.
• Record readings and report anomalies to supervisor.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas; perform minor preventive maintenance.
