Job summary

Columbus Water & Power's Division of Water seeks an Operator II to supervise, operate and staff the Dublin Road Water Plant on a rotating shift. The role includes analyzing laboratory results, adjusting chemical dosages, and operating a computerized SCADA system to monitor water flow and treatment processes.

We require EPA Ohio Class II Water Supply Operator certificate and an EPA Full Laboratory Certificate, a valid driver’s license, and readiness to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Valid EPA Ohio Class II Water Supply Operator certificate.
• EPA Full Laboratory Certificate for the facility.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience operating SCADA systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate SCADA to control and monitor water flow and chemical processing.
• Collect and analyze water samples, adjust treatment processes as needed.
• Conduct and evaluate laboratory results to meet regulatory requirements.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and calibrations to OEPA standards.
• Manage chemical inventories and storage per protocol.
• Record shift operations and data accurately in logs and meters.
• Respond to emergencies such as spills, outages, floods, or weather events.
• Supervise plant staff on assigned shift when required.
